Summary

Skald Sagas is a platform designed for tabletop RPG directors to manage their campaigns and share story content with their players. We ask that you use it for this intended purpose, treat fellow community members with respect, and refrain from posting illegal, offensive, or infringing content. Violations of these terms will result in immediate account termination without prior notice. This document constitutes your sole warning.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skald Sagas, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. Purpose of the Platform

Skald Sagas is designed exclusively for tabletop RPG campaign management and related storytelling activities. Use of the platform for any other purpose is prohibited.

3. Account Responsibility

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. We strongly recommend using a unique, strong password and keeping it confidential.

4. Platform Administration Rights

The site owner reserves the sole and absolute right to:

  • Terminate any user account at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice. No appeals process is available.
  • Remove, edit, or modify any user-generated content at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice.
  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the platform at any time without liability.

These administrative actions are taken at the sole discretion of the site owner. We have no desire to exercise these rights arbitrarily. Our goal is to maintain a functional, respectful community for tabletop gaming enthusiasts. Users who engage constructively with the platform have nothing to be concerned about. Users who create problems will find their access revoked without discussion.

5. User Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all original content you create on this platform, including campaigns, characters, narratives, and related materials.

Representations and Warranties

By posting content to Skald Sagas, you represent and warrant that:

  • You possess all necessary legal rights to post such content.
  • The content does not infringe upon any third-party copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights.
  • You have obtained all necessary permissions for any third-party content included in your submissions.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the site owner from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these warranties. Content found to be in violation of these warranties will be removed, and your account will be terminated.

Valuation of Content

You expressly acknowledge and agree that any content you post to this platform has no monetary value for purposes of any claim against the site owner. In the event that your content is removed for any reason, you waive any right to seek compensation or damages of any kind.

6. Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following activities and content are strictly prohibited. This is a zero-tolerance policy, and this document serves as your only warning:

  • Sexually explicit or pornographic material of any kind.
  • Illegal content, including but not limited to: pirated or unlicensed copyrighted material, controlled substance information, threats of violence, and any content that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
  • Infringing content, including reproduction or distribution of works for which you do not hold rights or appropriate licenses.
  • Harassment, disparagement, or hostile conduct toward other users, whether public or private.
  • Off-purpose use of the platform for activities unrelated to tabletop RPG campaign management.

7. Community Standards

Skald Sagas exists as a community of creative individuals united by a shared passion for tabletop storytelling. We expect all members to conduct themselves accordingly:

  • Exercise kindness. Every user is here to enjoy collaborative storytelling.
  • Offer support. Encourage and celebrate the creative efforts of others.
  • Demonstrate maturity. Address any disagreements privately and respectfully.
  • Practice compassion. Remember that every username represents a real person deserving of consideration.

Grounds for Immediate Termination

The following actions will result in immediate and permanent account termination, including complete deletion of all associated data. No warnings will be issued. No appeals will be considered. No exceptions will be made.

  • Posting sexually explicit or pornographic content
  • Engaging in harassment or hostility toward other users
  • Posting illegal content of any kind
  • Posting content that infringes third-party rights
  • Using the platform for non-TTRPG purposes

A Note on Judgment

When in doubt, err on the side of caution.

If you find yourself questioning whether something is appropriate, it likely is not. If you are considering posting something provocative or edgy, reconsider. If you feel compelled to respond sharply to another user, step away instead.

Conduct yourself with maturity, kindness, and the awareness that this community thrives because its members choose to treat one another with respect. Make that choice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THIS PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE SITE OWNER MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE PLATFORM WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE AVAILABLE ON AN UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE BASIS, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SITE OWNER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM: (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE PLATFORM; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE PLATFORM; (C) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE PLATFORM; OR (D) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When changes are made, the updated terms will be posted to this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the platform following the posting of revised terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site owner resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
