Spirit Coins are the currency of the world. They come in several ranks: Lesser, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond.

Iron Spirit Coins are worth 100 Lesser Spirit Coins. Beyond Iron, the exchange ratio is 10:1. Therefore, a Gold Spirit Coin is worth 100,000 Lesser Spirit Coins.

A single Gold Spirit Coin could easily buy the largest building in a sizeable village and it would be unlikely that the entire village combined could make change for it.

Most financial transactions are executed using Lesser and sometimes Iron rank Spirit Coins, with the higher denominations used for the purchase of extremely expensive items, magical components, etc.

Appearance

They are shaped like a coin and relatively small. They are lightweight, smooth to the touch, and are the color of their rank, with Lesser being a washed out blue-gray.

Consumable

Spirit Coins can be used for sustenance by heroes of Iron Rank and higher. Consuming (as in eating) a single Spirit Coin of one's rank serves as nutrition - food and water - for a single meal.

Heroes can also consume Spirit Coins of higher rank than they are to temporarily gain benefits. See House Rules for more information.
