Session Summary

Session 26 · January 22, 2026

17 Harpa (Women's Month, Spring)

Edge of Fire Giant Territory

  • You arrived and scoped it out. Big things flying around pretty far away. Clusters of smaller things flying around in lots of places. Patterns that suggested patrols rather than nature.

  • You decided to stick close to the ground.

  • After some travel toward the general center of Fire Giant Territory, you encountered a female Fire Giant fleeing from something.

    • She wasn't hostile toward you.

    • She warned you about the patrol trying to capture her.

    • (Did she tell you why she was running or where she came from?)

  • You didn't question her much and before very long, a patrol of Fire Giants crested a rise chasing her.

  • She ran and told you to run, too.

  • The Fire Giants were fast - high gold rank.

  • Their leader sent a handful of his crew after the female fire giant, telling them to bring her back breathing.

  • Their leader then invited you to talk about your next 20 years.

  • You chose violence.

  • Violence didn't work well. They kicked your ass, but you did put up a surprisingly good fight.

  • Gwydion managed to escape but stuck close.

  • As the others fell unconscious, dwarves showed up with bigger versions of their mechanical, metallic, explody selves and those mechs drove the Fire Giants away.

  • The dwarves, led by Virfir, took you back to their stronghold to recover.

17-18 Harpa

Dwarven Stronghold

  • Virfir fed you and let you rest and recover.

  • You took a Respite.

  • The dwarves seemed curious about you but stoic.

  • Once recovered, Virfir told you that he lost a dozen mechs rescuing you and a debt is owed.

  • He ticked off three things on his three fingers:

    • The forges grow cold. Something is doing that. You're adventurers. Go figure it out and solve it.

    • Their mechs are malfunctioning - acting randomly and stupidly. They won't / can't build more until they (meaning you) figure it out and fix whatever is causing it.

    • Ancestors speak to the dwarves from the deep stone. The tone and message has changed recently. You're to figure out what's going on and fix it if you can.

  • Once those three things are done, your debt is repaid and then they'll discuss more with you... matters of fire, and giants, and the goddess.

  • When asked about the fleeing giant, they mentioned that others have left Surt's stronghold as well and they can point you in their direction when you have a better chance of not becoming slaves.

  • You decided to chase after the cold forges first.
